A little bit about me …

My creative photographic journey began in 2011. I love going out and taking photos but the real pleasure comes from bringing them home to start working them into a piece of art. I use my own photographs as textures and for montages, blending them together to create painterly works. Some works begin as impressionist images using the technique of a slow shutter speed and slight movement to start with a soft image or to change the essence of the subject.

I live with my husband in Westshore, Napier. We look out onto the sea and love watching the sailboats glide by and the ships that pass by on their way into Napier Port. Many of my sailboats and ships are taken from my window. My ‘Cities On Water’ collection is my more creative use of container ships.

I also love old buildings - churches in particular - with the Pukehou Christ Church on SH2 in Hawke’s Bay being my favourite. Living in Napier I also get to enjoy the Art Deco and Victorian buildings.

But I’m happy taking photos of whatever comes my way and then playing around with them and see where they take me.
